1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

Owned by Jonathan Wines

For the time being that the 1968 Camaro is a project car, I HAD to have a little fun of my own for now. One day back in May I ran across this 1996 Camaro Z/28, dragged my friends to look at it, looked it over (not as well as I should have, but nonetheless) and i bought it for $2700.

The car for the price i paid was a nice deal in itself, but as thought, it needed a little work and some TLC. One night chillin out with the club, the car gave some misfiring problems and soon cut off. The fix required an optispark distributor and while I was at it, I replaced all the other ignition components as well, including the coil, module, plugs, and wires. While I was at the distributor, i took it upon myself to also cam up the car a little bit. Other than the cam, nothing else in the motor has really been modded. I have a spare block just waiting to be tampered with! 383 here I come!

Broken Trans Mount

Posted on Mar 21, 2007

At the Sumerduck drag strip, I launched the car a bit too hard and broke that stock rubber transmission mount. No real big deal to replace, I'll keep pictures up just incase something like this happens to you. Look closely and you'll see that square rubber image that is marked is the rubber portion of the mount itself. Now..imagine that piece flush on the crossmember you see below it instead of it sticking 3/4 of the way off. Thats the way a good trans mount would look BEFORE this happens!
